This whole area is part of the Loire Valley with its many tourist attractions including chateaux, festivals, fetes, foires, medievales, Troglodyte caves, abbeys, churches, museums etc. The Circuit des Chateaux de la Loire is very popular as is the Parc Naturel Regional Loire-Anjou Touraine.

There is a wide variety of sports facilities including sailing, swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, boules, picnic areas, equestrian centres, spas, lakes with other water sports, fishing and bathing. There are many areas available for walking and hiking. For cyclists there are several safe cycle tracks based on old railway routes.

Le Loire runs through Tours, Saumur and Angers and boat tours are very popular.

This is France so expect to find wonderful restaurants, little bars and a huge variety of artisan shops. A gourmet's delight.

This is wine country with many high quality wines produced locally including wine from Chinon, Bourgueil and Saumur vineyards, many of which offer wine tasting.

All of this leads to a high demand for good accommodation which you could provide.

The property is set in a small quiet village with a small school for young children.

The town of Noyant is ten minutes south and has a variety of facilities including a supermarket, post office, hairdressers, medical centre, chemist, summer swimming pool and a busy event calendar. It also has schools for older children. Market day is Friday.

To the north is the town of Le Lude with its beautiful Château, gardens, and Loir river. Here there are more shops including Intermarche, Lidl, and Bricomarche. There is a swimming pool open all year. Market day is Thursday. There is even an English pub and restaurant - The Rose and Crown -serving delicious meals and beer.

A little further west is La Fleche which offers even more including a busy Wednesday market. It has a large lake with a beautiful beach offering a lovely leisure experience. There is a large indoor swimming pool.

The historic town of Bauge is about 25 minutes and has Golf de Bauge a 18 hole course. there is an indoor and outdoor swimming pool.

Saumur with its beautiful Château on the hill is about 35 minutes south and has excellent medical facilities. Market day is Saturday. There are many traditional French restaurants. It is also an important rail link.

Tours is 60 minutes and has its own airport with flights to London Stansted 1h15, although these are restricted at the moment. It also has a TGV service to Paris. It offers a huge choice of shopping including several hypermarkets and an Ikea store.

The city of Angers is 60 minutes and has a huge medical university plus many shops.

Going north for 60 minutes will take you to
Le Mans famous for its car racing. It too offers a wide range of shops.

As well as La Fleche there are several other large lakes offering many water sports and other outdoor activities.

This part of France has good road communications including very good autoroutes which are much quieter than English motorways. The nearest autoroute the A28 is 20 minutes away and goes north to Le Mans where it splits towards Paris, Caen and Rouen. Going south will take you to Tours and then eventually to Bordeaux.

Apart from Tours there are airports in Poitiers 1h50., and Nantes.
